The new Star Trek movie finally opens May 8. In select big cities across the country, hipsters, ie., clubgoers, party people — anybody not your usual Trek nerds but who also fit into the 16-34 movie-going demographic — are being invited to “hip” Star Trek-themed club parties in an effort to get normal people — again, anybody not your usual Trek nerds — into theaters starting May 8. The parties involve a lot of drinking, dancing, techno music, and green Orion slave girls in shimmering lamé costumes.
