Ragtop Days, Cabernet Nights

It occurred to me that, even though I drive a Mustang convertible (360,000 on the odometer, thank you Ford. I can’t believe it, either.) and hearty California Cabernet Sauvignons are my favorite wines, I had not mentioned them even once in the previous version of this blog, titled after them.

I had talked about my novel, Disney World, my friends and family, presented videos and funny things, a book review, and shamelessly promoted Joey’s Hot Dogs, in the Exxon on Ridgefield, just past Pump Rd., for which I have not received a single dime.

So, once I inadvertently deleted my Google account, and thereby my former Blogger account, and it was then beyond the reach of mortal man (ie, anyone but a Google employee) to access said former account, make changes, manage or make new posts, I said, Hey, let’s switch it up.

The new title is appropriate, since I live mentally in an eternally hot, summer night, smelling the honeysuckle on the warm breeze, hearing the laughter of children playing in the distance, while Buffett and the blues echo from the stereo, fireflies light the night, my woman is warm and sweaty in the crook of my arm, and the cooler is full of ice and brews.

Trust me, I’ll still talk about the same things I have before — and even more.

But — time to switch things up.

Thanks for coming by. Come again in a couple of days.

And remember, the best hot dogs in Richmond are at Joey’s.

Joey has approved this message. He also approves of mustard, onions and chili. Never ketchup. Unless you’re under twelve, or desperate.

  1. Whew! For a while there, after reading your email, I thought you might no longer be a Dog Man.

Now I see I was incorrectly mistaken!!

Take heart (or tremble in fear?) that on the internet nothing is ever really deleted.
